- This event has passed.
8-part series on Thursdays, July 14 – September 1 from 7:00 – 8:45 pm
Want to be able to follow along in your prayer book during Shabbat services? Or read street signs in Israel? This class focuses on reading the Hebrew language. Starting from aleph, you will learn to recognize, pronounce, and write the Hebrew letters and decode words. You will also learn to read and understand some key phrases and prayers used in Jewish liturgy.
This class is intended for those who have little to no prior knowledge of the Hebrew alphabet. Class will be taught by Keren Yairi using the book Aleph isn’t Tough: An Introduction to Hebrew for Adults.
About the Teacher: Keren Yairi is a certified language instructor who teaches Hebrew and English as a Second Language, in addition to reading and language arts in the DC Public Schools.
