Hiddur Mitzvah
Making Jewish Life Beautiful with Rabbi Levi Cooper of Pardes
- This event has passed.
Rabbi Dr. Levi Cooper, one of the preeminent teachers of Torah to young professionals, leads an interactive session exploring classic Jewish texts that examine the notion of Hiddur Mitzvah – the value of enhancing and beautifying Jewish rituals. Rabbi Cooper is revered for his work at Pardes in Jerusalem where he makes Torah meaningful for Jews of all backgrounds.
In this special session of the Adult B’nai Mitzvah class, Rabbi Cooper will explore the inevitable dilemmas that arise whenever we pursue beauty. Just how much should we spend on beautiful ritual objects? Which is preferable: a DIY-project or hiring a talented artist? This unusual class partners with Rabbi Scott and incorporates plenty of opportunities for discussion, participation, and deep thinking.
