In God’s Name: Wisdom from the World’s Great Spiritual Leaders

In the summer of 2001, Jules Naudet and his brother Gedeon were working on a documentary film about firefighters in downtown Manhattan. On September 11, they filmed the FDNY response inside the World Trade Center.  It was there, as the South tower was collapsing that this book (and film), In God’s Name, took root, as the brothers were left searching for a greater meaning of life in a world embroiled in religious conflicts.

The Naudets traveled the world on their own spiritual journey to meet 12 leaders of the world’s major religions and ask them to share their messages to the world and their thoughts on the future of faith. What is the meaning of life? Who is God? Can different religions coexist? What is perfect happiness?  What is worth fighting – and dying – for?  These profound questions and more are explored.

Religions represented include Buddhism, Anglicanism, Hinduism, Islam (Shiite and Sunni), Judaism, Lutheranism, Orthodox Christianity, Roman Catholicism, Shinto, Sikhism, and Southern Baptist Christianity.
