After dueting with Gotye on the ubiquitous 2011 hit “Somebody That I Used To Know,” Kimbra became a household name and made history as the third New Zealand artist to win a GRAMMY Award. On her third studio album, Primal Heart, the singer combines metronomic xylophone, woozy synths, and video game-style flourishes, tempering moments of bass-heavy empowerment with intimate vulnerability.
