Lee Yaron
In Conversation with Jodi Rudoren
10/7: 100 Human Stories by Haaretz investigative reporter Lee Yaron is the definitive account of the day Hamas launched an unprecedented terrorist assault on Israel, told through the stories of its victims and the communities they called home. Crashing through the border, attacking from the sea and air, militants indiscriminately massacred civilians in what became the most lethal day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust.
The result of in-depth interviews with survivors, the bereaved, and first responders, 10/7 profiles victims from every massacre site—depicting the fullness of their lives, not just their final moments. The victims range from left-wing kibbutzniks to radical right-wingers, from Bedouins and Israeli Arabs to Thai and Nepalese guest workers, from Holocaust survivors to babies. Also a work of political critique, 10/7 interweaves history with broader political analysis of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Yaron will be in conversation with Jodi Rudoren, the editor-in-chief of the Forward, the nation’s oldest independent Jewish news organization. She spent more than two decades at The New York Times, where she served as Jerusalem bureau chief from 2012 through 2015.
All books will be pre-signed by the author. A book signing will follow the event for those who would like their book personalized.
As we host this program to mark the one-year anniversary of the horrific terrorist attack on Israel by Hamas, we simultaneously hold in our hearts all of the innocent civilians in Gaza who have been killed, who have lost loved ones, and who have been displaced from their homes in the ensuing war. We pray for healing for everyone who has been impacted and most of all, we pray for peace. – Sixth & I
