Let Your Chametz Go
- This event has passed.
This session will be held from 11:00 am to 11:30 am EST. Participants are encouraged to log into Zoom using their phone or other portable device for the outdoor portion.
Rabbi Aaron leads the pre-Passover tradition of biyur chametz, or burning our last leavened bread in order to spiritually prepare for the holiday. We’ll start with some singing, learning, and journaling, and then head outside somewhere you can safely burn some actual chametz. All you’ll need is your phone (to stay together on Zoom), a lighter or matches, some chametz to burn, and a flammable receptacle such as a paper bag or paper bowl.
In order to make this as meaningful an experience as possible for all involved, video participation is strongly encouraged.
Sixth & I is committed to creating community and providing a forum for learning while our building is closed, but we need your help to sustain those who make this programming possible. If you can, please consider making a tax-deductible contribution of any amount to help support our staff, security, and contract workers during this difficult time.
