Lilith Salon: Getting Dressed in the Morning
- This event has passed.
Can a smart woman also look good? Does she have to? Lilith magazine—independent, Jewish & frankly feminist––explores this and other ideas in a cover story on “Fashioning Feminist Identity,” 20 years after Naomi Wolf declared in The Beauty Myth that if you care about appearances, you’re buying into a corporate scam. A set of revealing first-person narratives in the spring issue of Lilith talks about the fun of fashion, why we care about how we look, and the endorphin effect of it all. Using the magazine as a springboard, Lilith Editor in Chief Susan Weidman Schneider and Dr. Gayle Wald, Chair of the English Department at GWU, will facilitate an evening of great conversation.
