Drawing inspiration from early-20th century poets and hip-hop’s most powerful voices, Chicago native Mick Jenkins has a talent described as “gloriously uncommon.”

After breaking onto the scene with his acclaimed 2014 mix tape The Water[s], Jenkins continued to grow, evolve, and challenge audiences with the bright and adventurous Waves, his debut album The Healing Component, and a pair of EPs, Or More; The Anxious and Or More; The Frustration. With his 2018 album Pieces of a Man, Jenkins has gone further than he ever has before toward a unified theory of hip-hop: rigorous but sensitive, technical but deeply musical.
