Money Talks: A Conversation About Saving and Giving
- This event has passed.
“If there is a needy person among you, one of your kinsmen in any of your settlements in the land…do not harden your heart and shut your hand against your needy kinsman. Rather, you must open your hand and lend him sufficient for whatever he needs.” – Deuteronomy 15:7
Figuring out how to live within a budget and be philanthropic doesn’t need to be a taxing issue. Join Rabbi Shira Stutman and Certified Financial Planner Melanie Corbett for a conversation about tzedakah and finance.
Melanie will teach the rules of thumb every financially independent woman should know, including paying off debt, determining how much rent you can afford, and whether the cost of graduate school is a sound investment in your chosen career field. Rabbi Shira will explore Jewish teachings on what it means to give tzedakah and how to find a charity that resonates with your personal beliefs.
Rabbi Shira and Melanie will answer your burning questions about important fiscal issues. Email Hannah to submit your questions in advance of the program.
For women in their 20s and 30s. And for the record, we love all bubbes everywhere.
