Rainn Wilson
In Conversation with Rabbi Aaron Potek

Following the event, the first 200 ticket buyers will have the opportunity to have their photo taken with the author.
Best known for his Emmy-nominated role as Dwight Schrute on “The Office,” Rainn Wilson has long been engaged with the deep questions of what it means to be human and what makes a life worth living. In Soul Boom, the actor, producer, writer, and SoulPancake cofounder explores the possibility and hope for a spiritual revolution to address today’s greatest issues—mental health, racism, sexism, climate change, and economic injustice.
He argues that, culturally, we’ve discounted spirituality—faith and the sacred—and we need a unifying understanding of the world that the great spiritual traditions provide. For Wilson, this is a serious pursuit, but he brings humor and his personal experiences of losing his father as well as his struggles with addiction and mental health to the conversation. Filled with genuine insight and a relatable approach to spirituality for people of all beliefs and for skeptics, not to mention enlightening Kung Fu and Star Trek references, Soul Boom delves into ancient wisdom for practical answers to life’s biggest questions.
Wilson will be in conversation with Rabbi Aaron Potek, the Senior Rabbi and Executive Director of Jewish Life at Sixth & I.
At all in-person events April 17 – 29, we’re collecting clothing for groups providing support to migrants arriving in DC. We are only able to accept items found on our list here.
