Simchat Torah in a Truck
- This event has passed.
Simchat Torah, which means “Rejoicing in Torah,” is the day when communities gather together to come into direct contact with the Torah and renew ourselves as we begin the cycle of reading from Genesis once again.
This year, though we won’t be able shut down I Street and dance outside our building, we’re taking a Torah for a ride in the streets of DC. Sign up to dance with Rabbi Shira, Rabbi Aaron, musician Aaron Shneyer, and the Torah in a neighborhood near you.
Advanced registration required. To register, select the neighborhood closest to you. Exact locations will be emailed to registrants that have returned a health attestation form on Friday, October 9. In accordance with DC safety guidelines, we will require that everyone wears a mask and maintain social distance during the visit/dancing with the Torah.
