Small Groups, Big Questions

Jun 11, 2026 • 7:00 pm ET

These five-week meetups offer a space to think through life’s big questions using a Jewish framework. Led by Sixth & I’ers in their apartments and homes, these salon-style gatherings are a great way to meet new people in a relaxed, laid-back setting.

You’ll discuss:

  • Week 1: Introduction
  • Week 2: Individuality vs. communal belonging
  • Week 3: How to make big decisions
  • Week 4: What makes a meaningful friendship?
  • Week 5: How to say goodbye

Tuesdays, May 26 – June 23 at 7:00 pm
Led by:
Jill in Capitol Hill

Jill is a DC area native. After taking a class at Sixth & I, she is excited to continue to expand her Jewish community. In her free time she enjoys cooking, reading, and exploring local parks and trails.

Wednesdays, May 27 – June 24 at 7:00 pm – Space Full
Led by:
Liv in Dupont Circle

Liv is a Midwesterner by birth and heart, but has been in the DMV since high school. In her free time, Liv is an avid reader, pop culture podcast consumer, and photographer. She is passionate about curating meaningful community spaces and is excited to continue expanding her connection to Judaism in her adult life.

Thursdays, June 11 – July 16 at 7:00 pm (skipping July 2)
Led by:
Emil in Glover Park

Emil is a pollster who, in his free time, explores the fragmented records of Eastern European and Caribbean Sephardic Jewry. He has lived in Caracas, Miami, Baltimore, and DC, and is interested in how people move through the world across cultures, histories, and identities, and what shapes a sense of belonging along the way. He enjoys watching women’s soccer (especially the Washington Spirit at Audi Field!) and introducing new friends to his goldendoodle, Obi-Wan.

Wednesdays, June 24 – July 29 at 7:00 pm (skipping July 1)
Led by:
Travis in Rockville, MD

Travis grew up in Maryland and has lived in Rockville since 2016. He is an active musician who directs an LGBTQ+ community jazz band in DC. Travis is excited to help foster Jewish community and meet new people.
