The Cycle of XX-Life
For women in their 20s and 30s
- This event has passed.
I said to you: In thy blood, live. Yes! I said to you: In your blood, live (Ezekiel 16:6).
Thousands of years before Our Bodies, Ourselves, there were Jewish laws and traditions concerning the menstrual cycle. Some were empowering, others more complicated.
We will celebrate our bodies by celebrating Rosh Chodesh, the holiday that marks the beginning of the new, lunar month. Rabbi Shira Stutman will lead an interactive conversation about the holiday, traditionally considered a “woman’s holiday” for reasons including perceived connections between the moon and the female cycles. How does the monthly reminder of womanhood shape our identity as women and as Jews?
For women in their 20s and 30s. And for the record, we love all bubbes everywhere.
