The Faith of Abortion Activists

In the year since the landmark Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization Supreme Court decision overturned Roe v. Wade (1973) and Planned Parenthood v. Casey (1992)—ending the Constitutional right to an abortion—20 states have enacted outright bans or severe limitations on abortion. Increased threats to abortion access, bodily autonomy, and religious freedom have spread across the country.

As we look to the upcoming challenges in the fight for reproductive rights, a group of faith leaders and activists committed to reproductive freedom and justice will discuss the work ahead, how faith communities can lean on each other in partnership, and what activists and people of faith can do to build their resilience and maintain hope. In conversation with Sixth & I’s Rabbi Nora Feinstein, panelists include All Souls Church Unitarian‘s Minister of Social Justice Rev. Rob Keithan, Catholics for Choice President Jamie L. Manson, and AWARE Project Founder Dora Muhammad.
