Albright’s family history is inescapably a history of Europe during the Second World War. In Prague Winter: A Personal Story of Remembrance and War, 1937-1948, a memoir of her early years, the former secretary of state and U.S. ambassador to the United Nations looks back to the Nazi invasion of her native Prague, then traces her family’s responses to war and the Holocaust, examining the options available at the time and reflecting on difficult decisions made.
