The Police, the People, and the Torah
- This event has passed.
The death of Freddie Gray and the uprising in Baltimore are just the latest in a spate of confrontations between the police and marginalized communities of color. Those of us with some societal privileges may feel both confused and powerless to help while hoping to uncover a vision for resolution and justice. The Torah is rich with material about conflict between communities and governmental authority. Join Rabbi Scott as he facilitates text study and discussion on one of the most challenging, pressing contemporary issues facing our society.
Even if you are unable make this class, email Marissa to be notified of future Sixth & I programs about the Baltimore uprising or other social justice efforts.
We will be accepting voluntary cash donations to provide food and water for community groups in Baltimore.
