The TEN: An Alternative Shavuot Experience
Featuring Natasha Lyonne
- This event has passed.
The TEN is our innovative take on Shavuot, the holiday traditionally celebrated by studying Torah and enjoying the first fruits of the harvest.
This high-energy, entertainment-rich, thought-provoking evening features actress Natasha Lyonne in conversation with Rabbi Scott Perlo. They’ll discuss storytelling from an artistic and human perspective; Jewish culture and identity; and the intersection between culture/spirituality and the creative life.
Lyonne is best known for her acclaimed performances in Slums of Beverly Hills; the coming-of age comedy, But I’m a Cheerleader; Woody Allen’s all-star romantic musical comedy, Everyone Says I Love You; the Holocaust drama, The Grey Zone; and as Nicky Nichols in the Netflix drama “Orange Is the New Black,” for which she received an Emmy nomination.
Following the conversation, hang out and enjoy cream cheese cupcakes from Grassroots Gourmet, popsicles from Pleasant Pops, crafts, Vietnamese Iced Coffee Cocktail spiked with Káhlua, and conversation with Rabbi Scott.
