U.S. Ambassador to Israel Daniel Shapiro, in dialogue with Washington Post columnist Charles Lane, will share his insights into peacemaking and the legacy of Rabin twenty years later. Yuval Rabin, the son of the late prime minister, will open the evening with personal remarks on his father’s pursuit of peace.

The Rabin Memorial Lecture was established at JPDS-NC to further the public discussion of the ideas and values represented by Rabin. This year’s lecture continues a series of outstanding public appearances honoring the legacy of Yitzhak Rabin. Past speakers have included Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Mike Mullen, Special Envoy for Middle East Peace George Mitchell, former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Elie Wiesel.

JPDS-NC is an independent community day school, and the only Jewish day school in Washington, DC.
