Visions of Race in America with Filmmaker Ken Burns

Award-winning documentary filmmaker Ken Burns will discuss race in America and show relevant film footage as part of Sixth & I’s weekend of inaugural festivities. Burns has been making films for more than thirty years, producing and directing some of the most celebrated historical documentaries ever made. Among his films—twenty in total—are the highly acclaimed series The Civil War, Baseball, and Jazz, as well as his most recent film, The War. Burns’s films have received major awards, including ten Emmy Awards and two Oscar nominations. This event is co-sponsored with Humanity in Action.
