What it Takes: Amidah
- This event has passed.
This class meets on Mondays, January 28 and February 4 at 7:00 pm.
Filled with stirring words and intricate choreography, the Amidah, or standing, silent, meditative prayer, is the most intensely spiritual part of every prayer service. But what’s supposed to happen when we take three steps forward and begin? How can the Amidah help us open our hearts to internal reflection and outward devotion?
Rabbi Jesse leads an exploration of this series of blessings, teaches some of the choreography, and delves into the language, structure, and history of what the ancient rabbis call HaTefillah (the prayer).
No one will be turned away from any of our classes due to lack of funds. For more information, please contact our Religious Programming Associate, Annie.
