CANCELED: What it Takes: Shabbat Services
- This event has passed.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, this class has been canceled.
Through class discussions and experiential learning, dive deep into the music and rituals of Friday evening and Saturday morning services to create comfort around Jewish spirituality and prayer. Corresponding Shabbat services and meals included.
Tuesday, January 21
The most popular of Jewish services, Kabbalat Shabbat (literally “welcoming Shabbat”) is the musical, deeply spiritual opening to Shabbat services each week. With Rabbi Jesse, explore the uplifting melodies and poetry of Kabbalat Shabbat, and experience our Hit Reset service on Friday, January 24. Shabbat dinner included on Friday.
Thursday, February 13
Unpack your experiences at Shabbat morning services with the opportunity to “ask the rabbi anything.” With Rabbi Shira, explore how we draw upon ancient traditions and contemporary practices and what Shabbat morning can mean to us today. Apply what you learned at our Day Off service on Saturday, February 15. Lunch included on Saturday.
No one will be turned away from any of our classes due to lack of funds. For more information, please contact our Religious Programming Associate, Leila.
