Lighten Up: A Chanukah Hang-out
For the love of a good miracle, on the fourth night of Chanukah, raise a glass to making it through another pandemic year, feast on festive treats, and put your dreidel game to the test during our winner-takes-all tournament. If your post-pandemic conversational skills are a little rusty, prompts from Rabbi Aaron and Rabbi Nora will help you skip the small talk and connect with other Sixth & I’ers—and the holiday itself—in a deeper and more meaningful way.
Start Fresh: Monthly Morning Intention-Setting
Inspired by Rosh Chodesh, the start of a new month in the Jewish calendar, Rabbi Nora leads song-filled morning prayers and kavvanot (intentions) to start your day.
Volunteer with the Capital Area Food Bank
During Chanukah, support the Capital Area Food Bank’s efforts to provide equitable access to food and opportunity to people struggling with hunger and food insecurity in our area.

Darlingside
with LULLANAS
On their third album Fish Pond Fish, the acclaimed folk quartet uses nature as a looking glass for the here and now, taking us into gardens, orchard rows, down to the ocean floor, and under stars.
Building a Jewish Home
Open to couples and singles, Jewish and interfaith, this workshop led by Rabbi Nora helps you to craft your unique Jewish life. Discuss Shabbat, finding a community, keeping kosher, negotiating Jewish life with your family, and living spiritually in the modern world. The class will culminate in students attending a Shabbat service and dinner together.
The Jewish Limits on Free Speech
Americans continue to struggle with issues around language: What are the “proper” terms to use? How sensitive should we be? What about an individual’s right to free speech? While the particular nuances of these debates might feel new, the questions underneath them are not. With Rabbi Aaron, explore what our ancient rabbis had to say about how sensitive we should be with our words.
Leo Kottke & Mike Gordon
The unlikely partnership between acoustic guitar pioneer Leo Kottke and Phish bassist Mike Gordon continues with the long-awaited Noon, their first new album in 15 years and a singular collaboration from two of the most accomplished and idiosyncratic instrumentalists in American music.
