Interfaith Roundtable: The Nature of Patriotism

As the debate between free speech and patriotism heats up in the public arena, this interfaith dialogue is an opportunity to explore what Judaism, Christianity, and Islam can teach us about the meaning of patriotism in the context of social resistance. By exploring verses from the Torah, Christian Bible, and Qur’an we will discuss what our faith traditions say about civic engagement, patriotism, and social justice. This interfaith roundtable is an ongoing project of Sixth & I, The District Church, and CenterDC. Newcomers welcome. Makkah Ali, of the podcast Identity Politics, will help facilitate the conversation alongside Rabbi Suzy Stone and Pastor Aaron Graham. Limited space available.
